Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Chemistry of Materials

Documents submission until July 20th/2022

A Post-Doctoral position is available at the Center for the Development of Functional Materials – CDFM, the selected researcher will work in the area of Materials Chemistry.

The project will evaluate catalyst materials for the selective photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CH3OH, from semiconductor oxides already known to the research group. For this, materials with potential for photoreduction will be synthesized and analyzed for CO2 reduction. The project will be carried out under the aegis of the Center for the Development of Functional Materials (CDFM), a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center (RIDC) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and hosted by the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in São Paulo state, Brazil.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or similar areas, with at least 1 (one) publication preferably as a first author proving previous experience with the subject of nanoparticle synthesis and application of photocatalytic materials, electrochemical characterization or gas chromatography. Recent PhDs with high production (two publications in high impact factor journals, IF > 10) will be preferred. Candidates must demonstrate at least four months of international experience in an institution of recognized reputation outside their country of origin. Experiences during undergraduate or master’s degrees will not be considered for this requirement.

Candidates must send, by July 20th/2022, the following documents to lmascarosal@gmail.com

a. Résumé (4 pages) with updated ORCID record;
b. Cover letter (2-3 pages) containing title and abstract of the doctoral thesis, most relevant published works, previous post-doctoral work, and explaining the fulfillment of the prerequisites;

Applications that do not meet all the requirements of the Call will be disregarded.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 8,479.20 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
